Frequently asked questions

Is ten days sufficient for this loop?

Ten days is an active pace. We can add nights in Damaraland, on the coast or between Etosha and Windhoek for a gentler journey.

Do we self-drive all the activities?

No. Sandwich Harbour and specialist safari or heritage activities require the appropriate operator or local guide.

Are accommodation and excursions included?

The itinerary is a proposed framework. Your Zumi quotation confirms the exact lodging, operator bookings, vehicle and fees.

Can we change the route?

Yes. Travel direction, overnight choices and seasonal activities can be adjusted around your dates.

Photo and itinerary notes: Your supplied photographs are used for the Swakopmund and Walvis Bay portions of the journey. The desert, Damaraland and Etosha sections retain destination-appropriate photographs rather than mislabelling coastal images. Hero photograph: Wikimedia Commons source and license. Other Wikimedia photographs retain their credited source links within the day descriptions. Operators and hotels are suggested, not confirmed commercial partners or included services. Wildlife sightings and tides cannot be guaranteed.
