01Day 1Cheetah Conservation: Research, Wildlife & CoexistenceTravel from a nearby base to CCF and meet the visitor team for a guided introduction to the centre. Add the selected enclosure drive or other confirmed activity, then allow time for the museum and a cafe pause. The exact order follows the centre’s programme and animal-care needs. Return locally, or continue on a longer itinerary only when daylight driving time allows.
Arrive at CCF with a clear plan
Use the driving directions confirmed by CCF and arrive with enough time before your booked activity. A local Otjiwarongo base keeps the visit relaxed; a longer road journey needs its own generous allowance. Check in with the visitor team and confirm which activities your voucher covers. Conservation work and animal care take priority, so the order may change. Guests joining the optional early exercise session should plan their previous night nearby rather than assume a comfortable same-morning drive from Windhoek.

Join the guided visitor programme to learn how CCF approaches cheetah protection and human-wildlife coexistence. The centre’s published tour introduces its resident animals, museum, model-farm context and livestock guarding dog work. Ask questions about why some cheetahs cannot be released and how rural livelihoods influence conservation outcomes. This is not unrestricted behind-the-scenes research access, and the guide decides which areas are available. Observation and explanation are the focus, with animal welfare guiding how the visit is conducted.

Continue with the additional activity selected in your quotation. The enclosure drive uses a CCF guide and vehicle to view resident cheetahs within expansive managed enclosures; it should not be described as a wild cheetah safari. An early lure-run session is a different product with a fixed schedule and advance booking. Follow all instructions about distance, noise and photography. The aim is informed observation rather than contact, and no petting or unrestricted approach is part of this outline.

Take time in the museum and visitor area to connect the morning’s encounters with the wider conservation story. A cafe lunch or snack can be added according to opening and dietary requirements. If the selected schedule coincides with a public feeding interpretation, the centre can confirm whether it fits; it is not an assumed extra stop. Return to your local base or continue your road itinerary with a comfortable daylight margin. Buying approved products or making a donation remains optional.
