16 Day Namibia Botswana and Victoria Falls Camping Journey

Follow Etosha's wildlife into the Kavango and Kwando wetlands, then continue to Chobe and Victoria Falls. A prearranged Namibia vehicle handover keeps the cross-border extension clear and workable.

Your journey

This is a northeastern journey rather than another rapid dunes-and-coast circuit. Travel from Windhoek to Etosha, then follow the main road corridor through Rundu, Divundu and the Kwando area to the Namibian Chobe floodplain. The camping stays give the river regions their own time, including guided wetland or wildlife excursions selected for actual conditions. The important operating choice comes at Ngoma: the proposed base design hands the Zumi vehicle to authorized staff in Namibia, then uses licensed cross-border transfers to Kasane and Victoria Falls. Retrieval must be priced and confirmed in advance. At Kasane, guests need a supplied ground-tent setup or a room upgrade after leaving the rooftop-tent vehicle; booking only a campsite would be incomplete. Guided Chobe outings then provide both land and river wildlife viewing before three nights at a Victoria Falls guest lodge. The route does not include casual self-driving into Moremi or remote Botswana sand tracks. It can be upgraded with rooms throughout, reversed with an agreed vehicle logistics plan, or lengthened for additional safari days.

Route and first experience

Arrive, inspect the camping vehicle and complete a full equipment demonstration with Zumi. This route travels far northeast, so confirm communications, tyre/spare provisions, drinking water and every retrieval arrangement before departure. The arrival night also protects the first long drive from an unexpectedly late international flight.

Set up at a Windhoek campsite and provision for the Namibia section. The proposed cross-border design leaves the Zumi vehicle in Namibia at a prearranged handover; licensed regional transfers and a Botswana campsite or lodge complete the extension. This must be priced and confirmed before advertising a fixed one-way rental product.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to the rental vehicle at the regional handover?

The proposed Namibia return or handover arrangement must be specifically approved and costed by Zumi. Guest travel then continues with the appointed local transfer and safari suppliers.

Do we still have tents after handing back the vehicle?

The Botswana camping component requires a separately supplied tent setup or a room upgrade. A bare campsite without the rooftop-tent vehicle is not a complete accommodation arrangement.

Does this route include Moremi self-driving?

No. The base route focuses on Etosha, the Zambezi corridor, Chobe and Victoria Falls. A Botswana bush extension is a separately designed specialist safari.

Are the named properties and services confirmed?

They are proposed selections for your journey. Availability, exact room or camping category, activities and meal basis are confirmed in your written quotation before booking.
